This private residence included a new master suite addition, an enlarged and more open living space, an updated more functional kitchen and rear patio for entertaining and gatherings. An important desire expressed by the owners was to maintain the tasteful yet understated ranch style look as viewed from the street in this established neighborhood in Lexington. This resulted in the addition being extended out the back of the home with rooflines which remained below the existing roof. The interior living space is vaulted to create an open and airy feel to the space.  A featured design element in the design is the intimate fireplace inglenook set off the main living area for reading and relaxing  in a quiet and private space within the house. The rear patio is an extension to the interiors by means of a screened in porch with it’s own fireplace.
